Your Surface Type Cover has a touchpad with two buttons that you can use like a mouse. Use gestures on the touchpad to do things like scroll up and down, zoom in, and select items. You can also adjust settings to prevent the touchpad from responding to accidental touches and more.
Use touchpad gestures
However, your laptop's touchpad does have one big advantage: gestures. With a swipe of your fingers you can switch between windows, adjust audio, and do just about anything else your heart desires.
Tapping means quickly touching and then lifting your finger off the touchpad surface. When tapping is enabled, a tap on the touchpad performs the actions of the left mouse button. When tapping is disabled, the touchpad buttons are the only way to click from the touchpad. The touchpad on my acer notebook no longer reacts. It is switched on, but I can no longer move the cursor, i.e. The little arrow. Everything works with an external mouse, i.e. With a USB connection. What can mam do there? The notebook is not even a year old. Switch on the touchpad using the keyboard A line may be drawn through the symbol. Tip on it, depending on the laptop, possibly in combination with the Fn key. The touchpad symbol should then appear on the screen. The touchpad on the side works very well, is extremely responsive, and like laptop touchpads will click when tapped. The package included a multi-purpose USB cable that charges the device and acts as an extension cable when plugging the dongle into a PC.

If your Surface has a touchpad, it has right-click and left-click buttons that work like the buttons on a mouse. Directv media player.

Change the touchpad settings
You can change touchpad settings to turn the touchpad on and off, reverse scrolling direction, turn gestures on and off, and more.
Attach your Surface to its keyboard or Type Cover.
Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
Adjust your settings under Touchpad.
